SAUSAGE SIZZLE OUTREACH REPORT

Last February we applied for a grant from Uniting Care to extend our sausage sizzle outreach activities.
In partnership with Burnside Central Coast, we asked for a grant to employ a part-time community development worker at The Entrance/Long Jetty Uniting Church.

We are thrilled to have been granted the sum of $35 000 for the next 12 months to do this.
We hope to run a café/drop-in centre in our fellowship room one day per week with services such as legal aid, financial advice,  counselling etc  offered to the needy  in our community on a regular basis.

All should be up and running by the beginning of 2016.

The free Sunday sausage sizzle will continue to operate into the foreseeable future.

PUT A SMILE ON A CHILD’S FACE

Every year millions of Christmas Shoe Boxes from throughout the world are delivered to children who have never received a gift before.

Operation Christmas Child is organized through Samaritans Purse whose President is Franklin Graham, Billy Graham’s son.
Last year nearly 8,000 boxes were filled on the Central Coast, almost 80000 in N.S.W and 308263 were sent from Australia/New Zealand combined.

A simple shoe box filled with goods brings such joy to children and it does not take much to do—

A skipping rope, marbles, bouncy balls, cars, soft toys, dolls, books, pencils, exercise books, soap, washer and toothbrush, t-shirts, shorts, dresses, hats, socks, and hair clips are some of the things to go in a box.

Operation Christmas Child sends a message of hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift filled shoe boxes and gospel literature and reminds them that some one loves them filling a shoe box.
